Boston Project
By Brett Becker

All photos taken on location with an assistant - to keep an eye out for cars at some points! I wrote out the letters as the shutter was open - a concept called "light painting" in the photography world. I adapted this method from learning the concept in a photography class I took - the teacher of the class showed us some of his work where he "painted" light on trees at night turning them different colors. Very cool - so I tried it facing the camera instead of away from it. And this is how it turned out. So yes, that's my "font" so to speak. It was a really fun project to do and I would love to do it in other cities someday as well. What makes it tough is writing backwards (since you are writing at the camera in mid-air!).

Hope you enjoyed the photos!
